Before you send emails, create audiences—lists of either contacts or leads with one or multiple filters that will be used as recipients. Click the Audiences tab, and then + New Audience.
Tip
Audiences will be up-to-date whenever they are used—any new contacts or leads that fit the selected filters at the time the email is sent are included in the audience.
Choose Audience Type
Audiences are generated from either your contacts or your leads. Contacts audiences can be filtered by that individual’s information, like location or age, and are ideal for broader announcements. Leads audiences can be filtered by case details, like lead status or case type, and are best suited for emails tied for case details.
Tip
You can include multiple audiences as recipients for an email. If a contact or lead is included in multiple audiences used as recipients, they will still only receive the email once.
Select either Contacts or Leads, and click Next.
Choose Filters
Select the filters you’d like to use. Depending on your audience type selection and your custom fields, your filters may look different.
For example, for a contacts audience, you might include a filter for contacts in a specific city who were created in the past year.
Click Next.
Confirm and Save
On the next page, you’ll see the number of contacts or leads that currently fit the selected filters. Click Preview to view the current list.
Click Back to make any changes, or click Save to confirm the audience and save it.
