Click the new Mass Messaging section in Lead Docket’s lefthand menu. In the Mass Messaging section, click + New Email to begin creating an email.
Before you begin creating, enter a new for your email. This name is only for internal usage.
Select either Branded or Traditional.
- Branded emails include elements like images, action buttons, and background colors
- Traditional emails are simpler, and include a textbox for your message and a footer
Tip
You can also create a new email by making a copy of an existing email. Find the email in the list in the Email tab, click the ellipsis, and select Copy.
Branded
Branded emails offer more design elements than traditional emails, and also allow you to work with an AI assistant to create the email. You’ll see options for elements and design on the right.
Tip
While you design your email, toggle between the desktop and mobile view to see how your email will look on different screen sizes.
Global Styles
In the Global Styles tab, you can alter design elements for the whole email: the footer text, the background, and the border.
Elements
In the Elements tab, add any of the four elements. To add an element, click Add Element and select the element type from the dropdown.
Click the pencil icon next to the element’s name to customize the element name. When hovering on or selecting an element in the email, you’ll be able to see the element’s name in the top left corner. These names are internal, meant to help you keep track of which elements you’re working on.
Use the icons along an element in the right side panel:
- Use the arrows to move an element up or down in relation to other elements
- Use the trashcan icon to delete and element
- Use the caret to view and edit the details of an element
| Element Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Image | Upload an image file, with options for linking, background, width, and more |
| Text | A textbox, with options at the top for formatting like headers, bullets, and more. In this element, you can click Variables to insert a variable for each recipient’s first name, last name, or email. |
| Spacer | A blank space between others elements, with options for height |
| Action | An action button, with options for text and a link |
Design with AI
In the Design with AI tab, you can chat with an AI assistant to help design your email. For instance, you can ask the assistant to create an email wishing recipients a happy May Day. The AI will create an email with appropriate background colors, images, and text.
Work with the AI to create the email—as you review the email, you can ask the AI to make changes, or make adjustments yourself in the Elements and Global Styles tabs. You can also ask the AI for smaller changes to an email you’ve drafted yourself, like adding an image. And, you always have the option to click Undo Changes to revert the AI’s last change.
Review
At any time, toggle on the Preview option at the top to see the email as it will appear to a recipient. You can also click Send Test to send a test email to entered recipients.
Traditional
Traditional emails offer a simpler format and fewer customization options than branded emails. For these emails, you’ll see two textboxes—a message textbox and a footer textbox—where you can use formatting and enter Lead Docket data variables.
Use the formatting options above the textboxes to insert headers, bullets, and more. Learn more about formatting.
To insert a variable, click Variables and select first name, full name, or email from the dropdown.
Review
To review the email, click preview in either of the two textboxes to see how it will look when sent. You can also click Send Test to send a test email to entered recipients.
