Lead Docket organizations integrated with Filevine can map their roles to roles and permissions in Filevine.
When a lead is sent to Filevine, a user with a mapped Lead Docket role will be created in Filevine with the chosen Filevine roles, permissions, and project notification settings.
The following table provides an example of role mapping’s functionality:
If… | Then… |
---|---|

Note: To map roles, users in Lead Docket must first be mapped to users in Filevine. Learn more about mapping users.
When mapped users are pushed to Filevine, Filevine auto-permissions are not overridden. Mapped users that are pushed to Filevine will only be added to the project with their associated mapped roles.

Note: To map roles, you must have Admin permissions.
To navigate to the Roles section, click Manage in the left side menu and select Roles from the dropdown. Locate the role you wish to associate with Filevine roles, and click Edit beside the role. In the Edit Role form, locate the Filevine Integration section.
Click the Associated Filevine Roles field to open a dropdown of the list of available roles. Scroll through the list of roles, or type to filter the list. Click a role to add it to the field. To remove a role from the field, click the x beside the role.
Once you've selected at least one role, the Filevine Permission and Follow dropdowns appear.
Click the Filevine Permission dropdown to select the Filevine permissions that you wish to grant to users with the Lead Docket role you are editing.
Click the Follow dropdown and choose whether you want users with the Lead Docket role you are editing to receive notifications for projects they are associated with in Filevine.
Once you’ve made all desired selections, click Save. The Lead Docket role is now associated with the chosen Filevine roles, permissions, and project notification settings.
