Signature Image Fields

Attach a signature image to a Lead Docket user or to a lead, and then embed the signature image in a document via merge codes and DocGen.

Adding Signature Fields and Images

Signatures can be added to individual Lead Docket users. Signature image fields can be added to leads.

Signature Image for User

Add a signature for a Lead Docket user. Navigate to Manage > Users, and click Edit next to the desired user. Scroll to the Signature Image field and click Upload Image. Select an image file type to upload. 

The user now has a signature! This signature can be added to documents via merge codes.

Signature Image Field

Signature images can be added as lead custom fields, and the client’s signature image can be added to the field and then used in a template. The signature image field must be added to the lead rather than as a contact custom field. 

To add a signature image field, navigate to the Manage > Custom Fields. Click Add Custom Field and select File Upload. In the Add Custom Field modal, fill out the location and display name as usual. Then, click Advanced Properties and under Restrict to Images Only, select “Yes.”

Embedding the Signatures in the Document

Once signature images or signature image fields have been added, you can add their merge codes to a document template to generate user and client signatures on a document. 

Navigate to Manage > Document Templates. Click Field Map to view information and examples about how to add dimension information to the field. For example, specify the width or height.

User signatures can be added based on the user’s role. For example, adding the {{AttorneySignature}} merge code will add the signature image for the attorney on that lead, providing the user has one uploaded. Enter “signature” in the Filter search box to view the user signatures associated with each role.

Client signatures can be added based on the name of the custom field. For example, adding the {{CF_1_SignatureImage}} merge code will add the signature image uploaded to that custom field on the lead, provided there is one. To use the signature image field you added in a lead, search the name of the custom field you added.
