Validating a phone number allows you to use that number as the Caller ID for outbound calls.
Example: if you have an office in New York (area code 718) and an office in Los Angeles (area code 213), you can validate a phone number from each office to make outbound calls with the caller ID from the respective number, regardless of what phone you are calling from. This can be useful using the area code match function in Lead Docket.
How to authorize a phone number for validation:
Go to Manage > Phone Numbers in the left navigation of Lead Docket.
Click the Other Options drop-down button on the far right and click Configure Outbound Caller ID.
Click the Authorize Number button at the top right.
Type in the Phone Number in the Number input and click Authorize.
A call will be placed to the number entered. Follow the voice prompts and enter the 6 digit code that appears on the screen by dialing on the number pad on your phone.
Click Continue. The number will now be authorized.
